I wish the writer had given some deserved credit to Ruth Patrick Hodge, the limnologist who gave her career success to the Academy. She was a pioneer and family friend who was very modest about her accomplishments. She went often to Washington to testify about her research before Congress. Clean water, of course, will be one of the 21st century crisis topics.
