One child was adopted by Joseph F. and Mary Bennet before 1920. The other, Paul, was fostered by a Mrs. Clemmer. His sister found him and raised him. Any help in finding their records would be much appreciated.

Biddle who is deceased and his siblings. Historical Society of Philadelphia does not have them. His dob is 1/2/48. He was fostered by Edgar & Retta Miller when he was about five years old. They are also deceased. His siblings are Robert and Janet Elizabeth. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

My grandfather passed away when my dad was only 1 year old. Family stories say he was an orphan. Records say his DOB is 8/5/1906, born in Phoenixville, James Cleary. Can you help? Thank you very much!

This is an excellent summary regarding information about the evolution of child welfare around the Philadelphia area.
Would it be possible to speak to Dr. Caldwell to learn more about the Children’s Aid Society and specifically about the fate of the records of children in the system like me before I aged out in 1961.
Incidentally, one of my foster parent’s ancestral family names was Caldwell.
