Thank you for the reminder of the National Negro Convention Movement. I first learned about this movement in high school in the first Black History Course taught at Cambridge Rindge (nee High) and Latin School. I have been thinking about this movement and the founder, Bishop Richard Allen for who knows how long, but I couldn’t remember the name of the convention until today while watching the Memorial Service for Mr. George Floyd.

There is a plethora of history about African Americans and their commitment to equity and equality in this country.
My hope is that some day in the future, school districts across all states find a way to infuse our struggle in all aspects of curricula.
